Epic Releases a Flappy Bird Clone named Tappy Chicken on Android

The Unreal Tournament and Infinity Blade developer, Epic Game has released a Flappy Bird clone named Tappy Chicken for Android. Like Flappy Bird, you simply tap on a touchscreen display to keep your character airborne and dodge obstacles.

Tappy Chicken is of course not the first Flappy Bird clone we've seen. You’ll find dozens of clones for Flappy Bird across the Google Play Store but Tappy Chicken is something completely different. It’s still a clone but it was the only one created using Unreal Engine 4.

Tappy Chicken is the work of a single Epic employee - an artist who had no coding experience at all - working with the company's Unreal Engine 4. The app has been released to show how flexible the engine is, and how anyone can use it to make games themselves.

“Tappy Chicken is the perfect showcase for the ease of use and flexibility of Unreal Engine 4. While it may not flex the full graphical muscle of the engine, it shows how almost anyone can make a fun and pretty game fit for mobile devices and web browsers,” said Epic Games.

Tappy Chicken is now free to download from Google Play store. It is also said to be currently working on a browser-based version of the game which will be available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.
